It’s difficult to say “thank you” to someone who has literally given half of their life as a volunteer to the credit union but Heartland’s board of directors and management attempted to do just that last night. Lois Grans, who was appointed to fill out the term of a board member in 1965 and then ended up serving as board chair for over 26 years, retired from Heartland’s Board of Directors last night.
For over 42 years, Lois has been a guiding force in the growth of the credit union helping lead the credit union through both challenges and success. For perspective, when Lois joined the board, the credit union had 3300 member/owners and was $5M in assets. Today, Lois leaves Heartland’s board in good hands, with over 22,000 member/owners and $300M in assets.
Lois Grans left her mark on Heartland Credit Union and for that, we are eternally grateful. On behalf of everyone at Heartland — management, the Board of Directors and all our member/owners — thank you.
